Demand Controlled Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV)

An Axco Demand Controlled Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) system is a low energy, continuous mechanical extract ventilation system designed with multiple extract points to simultaneously draw moisture-laden air out of the wet rooms, whilst minimising the migration of humidity to other rooms.

  • Low running cost
  • No extractor fans needed
  • Prevents condensation & mould
Benefits MEV Unit Features

Primarily for use in dwellings with 6 wet rooms or less (or dwellings up to 300m2 / 3200 sq.ft), the quiet and compact Axco Mechanical Extraction Ventilation system is usually installed in a roof space or cupboard and ducted into all wetrooms. The low energy unit runs continuously at a normal low ventilation rate, extracting stale polluted air from rooms where the most moisture is generated, e.g. kitchens and bathrooms.

When higher humidity is detected (i.e. when showering) the system automatically boosts, returning to normal fan speed when humidity levels drop.

A flow of fresh air from outside is supplied by an Axco Positive Input Ventilation unit/s or window trickle vents to match the boost extract from the MEV fan.

Homeowners can make significant energy savings as there is no need for noisy extractor fans in each wet room which create multiple breakout points in the building, creating draughts, air leakage and heat loss.

It is also much more economical to run one fan instead of multiple fans.

Guaranteed for 3 years, the high quality EC motor has a long-lasting performance, compared to low cost wall fans with a limited life cycle.

  • Eliminate condensation & mould growth
  • Reduces symptoms for asthma & allergy sufferers
  • No extractor fans needed
  • No fan grilles on wall
  • Quiet in operation
  • Removes musty odours
  • Ease of maintenance
  • Low running cost
  • Energy Saving Trust Compliant
  • Demand Controlled, adjustable humidity sensor (between 55% & 85% relative humidity) triggers boost speed.
Powered by an ultra low watt brushless DC Motor, the Axco C130 mechanical extract ventilation unit utilises the latest technology to ensure minimum energy consumption and long trouble free life, making this unit up to 80% more efficient than a traditional AC unit.

  • Compact – unit is small and low in profile, can be fitted in airing cupboards, cupboards or loft spaces
  • Low unit noise
  • Wide range of control options including PIR Sensors & CO² sensors
  • Self sealing duct connections
  • Quick change washable filter
  • Setback speed is used to reduce ventilation rates
  • Boost speed with overrun timer (0-30) minutes increases the extract air flow
  • Unit can be cleaned and serviced without disturbing ducting
  • Conforms to requirements of UK statutory Building Regulations and Technical Standards for Ventilation and BRE 398
  • SAP Appendix Q listed
  • Energy Saving Trust Best Practice Compliant
