Positive Input (PIV): Positive Input Ventilation Systems from Beam

Frequently Asked Questions

How does an Axco Positive Input Ventilation system work?

The AXCO Positive Input Ventilation system is a sophisticated whole home ventilation and condensation control unit that is designed to gently ventilate the home from a central position on the landing in a house or the central hallway in a bungalow or apartment.  Energy efficient, the units introduce a subtle air supply throughout the house to transform a stagnant, stale atmosphere into a fresh, healthy, condensation free environment.

How does an Axco Positive Input Ventilation system enhance the energy efficiency of my home?

Warm air accumulates at ceiling level.  This air can be up to 7ºC higher temperature than the internal air at ground level.  By introducing a subtle filtered air supply into the dwelling from the loft space, the loft mounted unit helps to redistribute heat around the home and thus reduce space heating costs.
In weather conditions below 10ºC, the incoming air is lightly heated to prevent cold draughts.
During the heating season significant energy loss occurs by opening windows to reduce humidity and condensation.  By installing a positive input ventilation system and providing fresh, filtered air to the home, the humid air is displaced without opening windows and thus making significant savings to the occupier.

Will the Indoor Air Quality in my home be improved?

The Axco positive input ventilation units draw fresh air into the dwellings from the roofspace and filters it before being delivered into the property.  Moisture laden air is diluted, displaced and replaced with clean, tempered and filtered air.  This promotes free air circulation and eliminated or reduces surface condensation, which causes mould growth, providing a significant improvement in the health of asthma sufferers and general indoor air quality.

Can an AXCO Positive Input Ventilation system be installed in my existing home?

Yes.  The AXCO Positive Input Ventilation system is particularly suitable for existing homes where condensation and mould growth are present as a result of poor ventilation.  We have a positive input ventilation system to suit a range of property types - small living areas ie. apartments/flats or bungalows and two storey dwellings.
