New Generation of Powerful Cleaning 20 Dec 2007

Vacuuming your home is about to be taken to the next level with the launch of the ground-breaking built-in vacuum system from Beam.

"The Beam Serenity_3.0 is a product of 50 years of cleaning innovation,” says Pat Keenan, Managing Director of Beam Vacuum Systems. “It is the most powerful and quietest central vacuum system ever made.”

Designed to deliver the ultimate in quiet and healthy cleaning, the new vacuum power units have energy efficient motors with increased cleaning performance. With up to 5 times the power of traditional portable vacuum cleaners, a Beam central vacuum system delivers deep and complete cleaning for every surface of your home.

An LCD management system on some power units allows the user to check the central vacuum system’s performance, total operating hours, service requirements and the content level of the bin.

Unlike portable vacuum systems that can recirculate dirty air, the industrial strength of a Beam central vacuum system ensures that dust and other allergy triggering particles are permanently removed from living areas. The result is a 52% improvement in indoor air quality.

Each Beam system comes complete with a vacpan for the kitchen area, a new lightweight 7m hose and toolkit. With over 50,000 installations to date, Beam’s modern cleaning technology is available to fit any home size, including apartments, townhouses, semis and detached properties.

BEAM SUCCEED AT BEST EXPORT AWARD

Award Ceremony

Scooping Best Export Business at the recent Magherafelt Business Awards marked a highlight in an exciting year for Beam Vacuum Systems Ltd.

Sponsored by Invest NI, the award was open to all manufacturing and tradeable service businesses in the Magherafelt area that export their products or services. The winner was selected on their comprehensive export strategy and export success.

Beam was established in 1977 by Pat Keenan, who continues as Managing Director of the company, when he saw the opportunity to introduce a modern, healthy cleaning concept to Ireland which he felt delivered improved convenience and performance.

He says: “Beam was founded as a sister business to an already established small plumbing and heating firm, now named Combined Facilities Management – a major building services company employing 95 people. Our aim was to deliver quality cleaning solutions for all sorts of projects from domestic homes through to hotels, to commercial buildings, factories and cleanrooms.

As well as employing a team of 35 staff in Magherafelt, Beam has established an approved network of 26 professional distributor businesses operates throughout Ireland. A proven sales strategy in Northern Ireland formed the basis of Beam’s focus on expanding into the Republic of Ireland, which has become a vital part of the company’s development.

Pat Keenan receives the award from Invest NI's Mary Gormley

With over 50,000 domestic central vacuum systems installed in Ireland, a Beam has fast become a must-have product for new and existing homes. Today 5.7 million people in the UK and Ireland have severe asthma symptoms. A Beam system is clinically proven to reduce these symptoms and will increase the indoor air quality of a building by up to 52%.

It’s also lighter, quieter and easier to use. Users simply plug in the central vacuum hose, and versatile cleaning attachments allow you to clean carpets, hardwood floors, tile, upholstery, draperies—even your car and garage—everything and with ease.

Beam domestic central vacuum systems are manufactured in the USA by Electrolux; as a result of the company’s focus on export sales growth, Beam Vacuum Systems Ltd holds the position of number one international distributor worldwide, outside of North America.

Pat continued: “Over the years we’ve developed an unrivalled experience of how best to apply vacuum technology and have used it successfully on a broad range of projects in homes, offices and factories. This provides a healthier environment that eliminates airborne allergens and enables companies to comply with health and safety legislation. Industrial clients include Intel, Seagate Technology, IBM, FG Wilson and Quinn Group.

Examples of leading innovation include the design, supply and installation of a large scale vacuumised document shredding system in a large financial institution in Dublin, the first of its kind in Ireland and UK.

The world’s first integrated compact central vacuum system for installation in the growing new apartment market is the latest addition to the product portfolio. This product was launched in July 2007 and is currently being installed by some of Northern Ireland’s leading contractors including Fraser Homes, O’Kane & Devine and Lavelle & McAlinden.

Beam’s growth to date is simple according to its Managing Director. He says: “It’s a result of committed and dedicated people delivering well-engineered products through professional sales and service.

As Beam Vacuum Systems Ltd embarks into a new era of growth, it looks towards the future with excitement in terms of sustaining and growing its international market leading position and presenting innovative solutions to the challenges that arise.

IRELAND’S LARGEST BUS COMPANY TURNS TO
BEAM FOR CLEANER VEHICLES

Ireland’s largest public transport operator is using innovative technology developed by Beam Vacuum Systems to reduce risks to its personnel’s health and safety and to ensure cleaner buses for passengers on routes throughout the greater Dublin area.

The bus company, which has a fleet of 1,100 buses and had 146 million passenger journeys last year, recently took delivery of its 12th custom-built bus valeting system for use in its depots.

A compaction skip was designed by a team of expert engineers to collect and compact litter including sweet papers, tickets, general waste and potential sharp objects such as broken glass.

As well as protecting its employees, the installation of the bespoke industrial vacuum compaction system is leading to significant labour savings, reducing the time vacuuming each bus from 15 minutes to four minutes.

Pat Keenan, founder and Managing Director of Beam Vacuum Systems, says: “Winning this business is a tremendous boost for the company in our drive to expand sales of our unique valeting systems outside Northern Ireland.

Beam Vacuum Systems recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its foundation and currently employs over 35 people in Magherafelt developing bespoke central vacuum cleaning systems, dust and fume extraction, and document shredding systems to customers throughout Ireland.

The company has installed over 40,000 domestic vacuum systems throughout Ireland and includes Intel, Seagate Technology, IBM, FG Wilson and the Quinn Group among its industrial clients.

An Innovative Approach at Aylesbury

Sligo, 20 August 2007:  A number of new property hotspots in Sligo are being treated to the ultimate in cleaning technology, a Beam central vacuum system.

An Innovative Approach At Aylesbury

Situated within a tranquil and pleasant residential area just off Strandhill Road, McMenamin Developments’ Aylesbury Park enjoys the highest standards of construction and latest home innovations.

P & B Kilcullen Electrical Contractors Ltd, Beam’s local distributor for over 20 years says, ”As well as catering for growing homebuyers’ demands for a healthy sustainable home, a Beam central vacuum system provides access to modern cleaning technology.

With strategically located vacuum inlets, users simply plug in the lightweight, crush-proof vacuum hose and the remote power unit starts automatically”.

Beam’s whole-house cleaning convenience delivers the ultimate in quiet performance, as the nuisance noise created by traditional vacuum cleaners is virtually eliminated.

Unlike portable vacuum systems that can recirculate dirty air, the industrial strength of a Beam central vacuum system ensures that dust and other allergy triggering particles are permanently removed from living areas.

A recent report by the University of California illustrated that the indoor air quality for residences installed with a Beam central vacuum system is improved by up to 52%.

With an estimated 50,000 satisfied users throughout Ireland, Beam central vacuum systems have been increasingly popular over the last 30 years and are now recognized as being one of the most desired appliances in new and existing homes. 18 July 2007:

South Sligo Sparkles with Beam

Paul Morahan

Homeowners in South Sligo will now be able to avail of the ultimate in healthy and quiet cleaning technology.

Beam Vacuum Systems, Ireland’s leader in the central vacuum system market, is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Morahan as its South Sligo distributor.

Paul, proprietor of Electrical Services, has joined Beam’s nationwide distributor network which has professionally installed over 50,000 central vacuum systems throughout Ireland.

Paul, a native of Tubercurry, has over twenty years experience as a qualified electrician. Married to Maria, Paul has two children, Brian aged 11 years and Joanne aged 8 years.

Shockingly, Ireland is now ranked among the top four countries in the world with the highest prevalence rates for asthma. A recent study shows that as many as 470,000 people in Ireland are affected. At least 20% of all Irish children have asthma (Asthma Society of Ireland).

The prevalence of dust mites in the home contribute to poor indoor air quality. It is not the mites themselves that contain allergens but their excrement, which are triggers for asthma, eczema and allergic nasal mucous membrane inflammations. The main treatment for dust mites is avoidance — that is, taking measures to minimize the number of dust mites in your home.

“Unlike portable vacuum systems that can recirculate dirty air, the industrial strength suction of a Beam central vacuum system ensures that dust and other allergy-triggering particles are permanently removed away from the living area”, explained Paul. “A recent report by the University of California illustrated that the indoor air quality for residents of a home installed with a Beam is improved by up to 52%”.

With strategically located vacuum inlets, you simply plug in the lightweight, crush-proof vacuum hose and the remote power unit starts automatically. The power unit can be installed in the garage, utility room or under the sink.

Versatile cleaning attachments let you clean carpets, wooden floors, tile, upholstery, curtains - even your car and garage.

As with other built-in appliances, investing in a central vacuum system increases the market value of your home. Leading architects, consulting engineers, designers and quantity surveyors throughout Ireland are specifying the central vacuum systems to self-builders and developers throughout Ireland.

Beam’s modern cleaning technology is available to fit any home size, from apartments to large detached properties. If you would like a no-obligation survey of your house plans or current property, please contact Paul Morahan on Freephone 1800 20 1067 or log on to www.beamvacuums.ie.

BEAM VACUUM SYSTEMS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SUCCESS

A commitment to enterprise and innovation has enabled local company Beam Vacuum Systems Ltd to achieve a market leading position in central vacuum technology in UK and Ireland, Leslie Morrison, Invest Northern Ireland Chief Executive, said today.

Mr Morrison was speaking during a visit to the company which has just celebrated the 30th anniversary of its formation by Pat Keenan, the Managing Director. Beam specialises in the design and installation of central vacuum systems for residential, commercial, and industrial and applications.

Among recent installations completed by the company, based at Magherafelt, is an extensive innovative vacuum-shredding and central cleaning system for a large financial institution in Dublin that ensures the secure disposal of sensitive documents.

Mr Morrison, commenting on the company’s achievements over three decades, said: “Beam Vacuum Systems has prospered through adding significant value to its initial business as a distributor of central vacuum systems. It has achieved this by coming up with innovative and bespoke vacuum solutions that meet the requirements of individual customers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

“Installation of a VacuShred system demonstrates how the company has adapted central vacuum technology to satisfy a client’s specific requirements. The security enhancement is an important issue today because of the prevalence of identity theft. In addition, this is an efficient cleaning system that has been clinically proven to provide a healthier indoor environment.

“As a result of this customer-led innovation, Beam Vacuum Systems is now recognised by Beam USA as the number-one international distributor and the market leader in Ireland,” he added.

MD, Mr Pat Keenan said: “Over the years we’ve developed an unrivalled experience of how best to apply vacuum technology and have used it successfully on a broad range of projects in homes, offices and factories. This provides a healthier environment that eliminates airborne allergens and enables companies to comply with health and safety legislation.

“We’ve also achieved this by continuous investment in our products, processes and, above all, in the skills and capabilities of our people. This approach enables us to respond quickly and effectively to the requirements of all types of customers, thereby creating our competitive edge.

“We’ve benefited immensely from advice and practical support provided by Invest NI to help us develop our business,” he added.

Beam Vacuum Systems currently employs over 35 people at Magherafelt in the development of bespoke central vacuum cleaning, dust and fume extraction, and document shredding systems to customers throughout Ireland.

The company has installed over 40,000 residential systems throughout Ireland and industrial clients include Intel, Seagate Technology, IBM, FG Wilson and Quinn Group among its clients.
